I am a film-maker besides a NERFer. I have multiple scripts for movies, but have niether actors nor props.
I will give decent pay in the event that the films sell well, and the actual pay will be delayed for probably a while, but per movie the pay is $50 per movie.
I ask for 13-18-year-old actors for these films, male or female (it makes no actual difference which gender, and nothing will be different in the job description), and you must have good acting skills, a good supply of NERF guns (the pay is half about the borrowing of the weapons and other props and half for services), and a good attitude towards taking orders and be good about people with shorter fuses than others (I am a Corporal in the 2308 Canadian Scottish Regiment, after all, so I can be a little stubborn and pull rank sometimes), and a good sense of humour (because i will allow humour that wasn't in the script, it only adds views and adds interest). Most of all, you need to be able to take the costumes, like the "old person" look if you stared in a previous movie and it takes place quite a while after the prequel, and disguises and full military gear, occasionally. Some of the effects will be involving potentially dangerous situations, but great care will be taken to minimise the risk. These stunts might involve falling out of a tree (slowly lowering a person down out of a tree and making it seem like they fell hard, by speeding it up and making a loud CRUNCH on the film), or getting punched and falling down stairs (will be done by padding the floor and making sure you have protection), and some macabre effects such as "coughing up blood" (which is really a teaspoon of red food dye and a quarter cup of water per spit), and this may be a little gruesome on film, but it's part of the job description. you must also not mind waiting, as you will get your pay eventually, as a mailed check. If you do a really good job, you might get a 50% bonus. There is no tax on this paycheck. Elegible participants must live within three hours of driving distance of Port Alberni, B.C., which includes the distance from Victoria to Port Alice, to an hour over the Strait of Georgia.
As an applicant, you must recognise possible injury, but volonteer for the good work.
